Mehmood Ali a close comrade of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah has said that Pakistan would have not disintegrated in 1971 had military not surrendered. He was addressing the national conference on the "Quaid-i-Azam: his thoughts and contribution" organised by Quaid-i-Azam University, here on Friday.

Mehmood Ali who has been given the status of the life time federal minister, for his remarkable contribution for Pakistan, did not accept the partition of united Pakistan and says that East Pakistan is still part of Pakistan. He held army responsible for the disintegration of united Pakistan.

Mehmood Ali asked the nation to hold frequent seminars and other conferences to educate people and new generation about the creation of Pakistan.

Mehmood was of the view that Quaid's vision was not to get separate piece of land, but unity among the Muslims was his core motto behind creation of this country. He made it clear that Muslims did not relied on other while struggling for Pakistan and added nation must work hard with commitment for the betterment of people living in it.

He further said that our people have forgotten the basic principles of "Unity Faith and Discipline", which need to be revitalised.

Dr Jaffar Ahmad Director Pakistan Studies Centre, University of Karachi, said that Pakistan has been facing leadership crisis since the early hours of its existence.

He pointed out that Quaid strongly opposed the nepotism, corruption and bribe culture, which he said, has been prevailing in the Quaid's Pakistan.

Dr Ghulam Akber Abro, Dr Moizuddin and Dr Lal Baha also addressed the conference and highlighted the contributions of Quaid and importance of Pakistan creation.
